The spacious rooms at
The Heights each feature a deck or terrace to allow you to enjoy New
Zealand’s outdoor lifestyle
and the spectacular views. Each has its own ensuite bathroom, king bed,
refrigerator and tea and coffee making facilities,
TV and DVD player.

We’ve limited the
number of guests in order to focus more on
giving you a high level of service. At most there will be only
four guests (2 couples).
For the consideration
of our guests and to help you enjoy New Zealand's pure air, our home is
a non-smoking area.
Te Moana
Step out of the French
doors of Te Moana onto your own private deck to enjoy the
sunset and the peaceful calls of native bird life. Aptly named “the
sea”, Te Moana gives you 180-degree views stretching over 100 km. of
sea, mountaind, farmland and shore – the best in the house.

Inside, snuggle against
the luxurious feel of fine linen in your king bed (king twin
configuration available) or stretch out for a good read or TV/DVD
viewing.
In the ensuite, other
delights await you: thick, fluffy towels, terry cloth robes and
handmade soap. And at night after a rewarding day of adventure, return
home through your own, private entrance to find a turned-down bed,
home-made cookies and your choice of hot chocolate, gourmet coffee or
tea awaiting you -- little touches designed to make you feel very at
home.
Te Moana features its
own private entrance, so you can stay out as late as you like without
worrying about disturbing us. There's a walk up a short flight of
stairs to get to the room, but its location at the highest point of the
house is what makes the views so awesome.
Te Koru
Named after the silver fern tree outside its door, Te Koru lets you
enjoy the tranquillity of The Height’s gardens while still affording
views the sea, the twin Waihou and Kaueranga Rivers, and Thames’s
historic 19th century racecourse. Sit back, relax and
enjoy a drink on Te Koru’s private patio while you gaze up the mountain
at majestic ancient macrocarpa trees and peacefully grazing
sheep. We've extended the patio so you can enjoy panoramic views
of the Upper Firth of Thames as well. And at the end of a busy
day, relax in the patio spa and count the stars -- so many the sky
seems white with them!

Inside, through the sliding glass doors (your own private entrance),
warm earth tones seem to let you connect with the natural beauty
all around. A freestanding wood-burning fireplace beckons you on
cool evenings and casts a romantic glow. The luxurious feel of
native woods, fine linens and thick towels and special touches like
nightly turndown service (if you wish it) and cookies before bedtime
add to the sensuous simplicity of Te Koru.

The Garden
The Heights is surrounded by a half
acre of professionally designed landscaping, but because of our unique
setting where the town meets the farmland and bush, it feels like a lot
more space.
Try a game of
croquet or boules
(petanque). Or let us teach you woodball, a new, fun cross between golf
and croquet that's all the rage in Asia. Bird watch. We'll be
happy to loan you our binoculars and guide books. Have a relaxing
soak in the spa. Or just sit back and enjoy Mother Nature.
